Daphne J. Cates, M.D.

Family Medicine

Dr. Cates specializes in Family Medicine with a special interest in pediatrics and women's health. She treats patients of all ages with both acute and chronic medical illnesses. Dr. Cates has served as the vice chief of medicine at the Maria Parham Medical Center and as the Chief Resident in the University of North Carolina Family Medicine Residency Program. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians.

Uma Shah Darji, MD

Family Medicine
Dr. Darji was born in Dallas, Texas and is a graduate of Austin College for her undergraduate degrees in History and Religious studies as well as Political Science.  In her junior year, she spent time abroad in Italy where she had the opportunity to provide access to health care in mobile clinics to the disenfranchised. It was through this experience that she solidified her decision to become a family doctor. She obtained her medical degree at American University. Her residency was completed at East Carolina University and its affiliated Vidant Medical Center. She has a passion for preventive health and patient education. Her passion is driven by the bonds that she builds with her patients and the enjoyment she holds in keeping them healthy and well. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family. She is conversant in English, Gujarati, Hindi, and Italian.

Leah M. Gruber, PA-C

Family Medicine

Leah Gruber is a board certified physician assistant currently practicing in family medicine. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Medical Studies and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from DeSales University in Center Valley, PA. She has a certification in Advanced Cardiac life support and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Leah treats patients of all ages with both acute and chronic medical illnesses. She has particular interests in cardiovascular disease, diabetes, preventative medicine and pediatrics.

Cynthia Julich, Family Nurse PractitionerCynthia Julich, FNP

Family Medicine

Cynthia Julich is a Nurse Practitioner who specializes in Family Medicine. She treats patients of all ages with both acute and chronic medical illnesses. Cynthia is interested in nutrition related to sports, weight loss, diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. She enjoys working in Sports Medicine and Behavioral Medicine related to parenting learning and surviving life in special circumstances.

Bridget F. Condit

Family Medicine


Bridget is a board certified nurse practitioner who specializes in family medicine. She attended graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She enjoys practicing in community-oriented primary care and has a strong background in pediatrics. Her specific interests include women's health, reproductive medicine, and the adolescent/young adult population.
