Dr. Cates specializes in Family Medicine with a special interest in pediatrics and women's health. She treats patients of all ages with both acute and chronic medical illnesses. Dr. Cates has served as the vice chief of medicine at the Maria Parham Medical Center and as the Chief Resident in the University of North Carolina Family Medicine Residency Program. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Darji was born in Dallas, Texas, and is a graduate of Austin College with degrees in History and Religious studies as well as Political Science. In her junior year, she spent time abroad in Italy where she had the opportunity to provide access to health care in mobile clinics to the disenfranchised. It was through this experience that she solidified her decision to become a family doctor. She obtained her medical degree at American University and completed her residency at East Carolina University and its affiliated Vidant Medical Center. She has a passion for preventive health and patient education that is driven by the bonds that she builds with her patients and the enjoyment she holds in keeping them healthy and well. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family. She is conversant in English and Gujarati.

Cynthia is interested in nutrition related to sports, weight loss, diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. She enjoys practicing public health, rural health and is certified in medical Spanish. Her specific interests include diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary diseases, sleep apnea and heart disease.
Bridget is a Family Nurse Practitioner that practices family medicine. She attended graduate school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. She has specific interests in pediatrics, contraceptive care, nexplanon and IUDs, preventative health and patient education.
