Meet Ashwani "Ash" Sastry, MD, the first interventional cardiologist to join the new practice. A graduate of the California Institute of Technology and the University of California San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Sastry completed his internship and residency at Cornell University Medical Center, his cardiology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center, and his Interventional cardiology fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center. He specializes in interventional cardiology, arterial disease, and venous disease
Dr. Swamy joins Central Carolina Hospital from West Pennsylvania “Penn” Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA where he has been the past 5 years. Previously, he completed his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at New York University Medical Center in New York, NY. Before that he completed his Cardiology Fellowship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Dr. Swamy graduated medical school from the University of Chicago-Pritzker in Chicago, IL. He received his undergrad at Duke University in Durham, NC. He specializes in cardiology, coronary intervention, echocardiography, arterial and venous ultrasound, vascular medicine, peripheral vascular intervention, stress testing, cardiac rhythm evaluation and management.
